Intensive Outpatient Programs (MH IOP)
What is MH-IOP?
A Supportive and Structured Path to Healing
The Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (MH IOP) provides a higher level of care than standard outpatient services. Offered in a supportive group setting, the program meets three times a week for sessions lasting approximately three hours each, over the course of 8–10 weeks. Patients engage in a structured, therapeutic program alongside peers who are working through similar challenges, creating a collaborative and encouraging environment for healing and growth.
Our Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (MH IOP) provides a warm, welcoming, and relaxed environment designed to promote healing, connection, and growth. Each three-hour session is carefully structured to balance education, therapeutic processing, and built-in breaks for rest and reflection. This supportive atmosphere helps clients connect with peers, share experiences, and receive encouragement from both staff and fellow participants.
Program Structure
Each session lasts three hours and includes two core components:
1. Educational Segment
Focused on practical tools and skills that foster long-term success, including but not limited to:
- Social skills
- Coping strategies
- Problem-solving techniques
- Cognitive restructuring
- Identifying and correcting thinking errors
- Relationship dynamics
- Stages of change
2. Process Group
Led by experienced clinical staff, the process group offers a safe space for clients to explore personal experiences, discuss challenges, and receive feedback. Participation is always at the client’s comfort level, but active engagement is encouraged to maximize results.
Insurance Coverage
Most insurance plans (with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid) cover MH IOP services. We work with all participants to verify if their insurance plan includes MH-IOP coverage. Discounts for full payment and payment plans are also available for those paying out of pocket.
Treatment and Discharge Planning
Our team collaborates closely with each client and, when appropriate, their family members or support network to design a personalized treatment plan that identifies individual goals, strategies, and timelines for success. As clients progress through the program, this plan is regularly reviewed and adjusted to reflect their growth and evolving needs.
Upon completion, a comprehensive discharge plan is developed to support long-term recovery and stability. This plan emphasizes building a structured and sustainable lifestyle and may include relapse prevention strategies, ongoing therapy recommendations, and connections to community and supportive resources. Our goal is to ensure that every client leaves the program with the tools, guidance, and confidence needed to continue thriving well into the future.
